Caerostrum is the Inquisition's HQ in the Segmentum Pacificus.

Permanent or semi-permanent inhabitants

Inquisitors

  • Inquisitor Ephrane Tormand of the Ordo Malleus. Legendary daemon hunter, now spends her time in the archives writing or reading. She's lost both legs and her right arm. This, in addition to her troublesome spine and incredible age, means she wears an exoskeleton. It's busted and utilitarian - as she rarely leaves Caerostrum, she sees no point in taking the time to keep up appearances. The people who matter know where to find her.
  • Inquisitor Thaniel Rhygon of the Ordo Hereticus. His face and left hand show extensive burn marks, and both his eyes are bionic. He's extremely reclusive, rarely attending lectures unless the subject interests him and he doesn't think he already knows everything there is to know. He's quite paranoid, often seeing connections between disparate cults where others claim no link exists. It is rumoured he has an extensive network of agents across the segmentum.
  • Inquisitor Selene Simova of the Ordo Hereticus, retired witch hunter. She's thought by many puritans to be under house arrest at Caerostrum due to rumoured radical beliefs, although Lord Inquisitor Habermann has said that Simova is free to come and go as she pleases. It is also rumoured that she and Inquisitor Rhygon meet each week for a game of regicide, but that they never utter a word to each other.

Acolytes

  • Acolyte Gregory Michael from the Cetan sub. -No Longer present, now Inquisitor Michael
  • Acolyte Aikaterine Stavroula Zabat - of noble stock; haughty; persistant; demanding.
  • Acolyte Antonis Ioannidis - very private, doesn't volunteer information, naturally gifted at interrogation.
  • Acolyte Niraj Vasant - outgoing, friendly, unthinking puritan. Would execute a heritic with an apologetic smile but no hesitation.
  • Acolyte Riyang Uthaya - trainee daemonhunter with more experience in combat than investigation; quiet, reserved, polite, deferential.
  • Acolyte Mirja Hesh - trainee xenos specialist. Conversant in orkoid xenobiology. Skeptic, and allegedly raised on a forge world. Has said she's come to Caerostrum to work on her martial skills, since she feels these are lacking.
  • Acolyte Adeline Meade - Inquisitor Velasquez' trainee. This is her first visit to Caerostrum, and she'll be staying after he leaves.

Support Staff

  • Lexmechanic Senioris Hanne Besrel manages the archives of Caerostrum. She is responsible for the staff maintaining the library, the case file archive, and agent folios.
  • Techpriest Dominus Ralembard Howe and his team keep the mechanical systems of Caerostrum running. These include the defence turrets, void shields, garage, power generators, and anything else that runs on electricity.
  • Colonel Xera Trevin commands the thousand-strong garrison of Inquisition storm troopers. Their barracks and training halls are in the subterranean levels, although at any given moment roughly a third of the garrison troops are above ground, guarding key locations and manning the curtain wall.
