Dear Mr/Mrs most noble Lord Inquisitor(s),

This probably isn't heresy that I'm reporting, but it seemed funny, and I don't want to get in trouble for not saying something. You probably get all kinds of reports clogging things up. Maybe it's heresy to clog up your inbox. Hmm. I immediately regret selecting auto-dictation. Is this thing definitely sending as I talk?

[RUSTLING SOUND]

Right. Yes. We detected an Astartes-pattern escort on the outer edges of the system. It didn't respond to standard ident hails, but had a transponder that matched a chapter called the Black Templars. It was there for 703 minutes and 13 seconds, remaining unresponsive, by which time we had sent ERVs to find out if they were imperiled. Before the ERVs could approach, the ship translated back into the warp. That's all.

Hopefully my report is satisfactory, and I humbly apologise if you deem it excessive, but with all the high alerts about Astartes pattern ships we've had, I thought overzealousness better than laxity.
